We recently sat down with Vancery expert Cecile Peters, Senior Director of eCommerce for Moët Hennessy, to discuss her experience consulting on Vancery. Through her role at Moët Hennessy Cecile serves as the Head of Clos19 USA, an online, supplier-driven direct-to-consumer marketplace for wines & spirits.
How did you hear about Vancery?
CP: I was referred by a friend who had done a consultation herself. She explained what the process was like and said I should check it out.
I had never done consulting like this before but I signed up and the Vancery team was very helpful in that process.
What was the sign-up process like?
CP: I thought it was very easy – pretty seamless and straightforward. Even setting up Stripe for payment was very straightforward, and [after the call] I received payment right away.
When you were selected for a call, how did you find the scheduling process?
CP: I found it very easy as well, there is a calendar view for the scheduling, that made it very simple and clear. The client and I had to go back and forth a little bit to decide on a time that was best for both of us but the messaging system in the tool made that process very easy.
What are your thoughts on the actual call? How did it go? What did you like or not like about it?
CP: I thought it went very well! They wanted to understand the needs of my current role but it was not a straightforward question & answer. It was an interactive discussion and I really liked that. The client was very knowledgeable on the topic we discussed. I got to ask them questions and learned some new things about my industry.
Would you recommend Vancery to a friend?
CP: I already did! I referred two friends to Vancery. It’s a great product and I think makes sense for people who prefer a flexible work model.
What would you say to someone who might have reservations about joining?
CP: I would say that you have nothing to lose. It’s an hour of your time that you would otherwise probably be using for something else that you’re not getting paid for. And it’s an opportunity to learn something new about your industry so I don’t see why you wouldn’t do it. It’s a win-win.
I know that I was concerned at first about the level of expertise I had on the topic we discussed. But the nice thing about Vancery is that the client has already reviewed your profile by the time they are contacting you. So there’s no need to worry that you are a bad fit because the client has selected you for your level of experience and you can be assured that you’re the person they want to talk to.
And lastly, there are no right or wrong answers. You’re just expected to share what you know and give your opinions or views.
